What is Caribbean Canbacing?

Caribbean Canbacing is a new series of blogs in which I will be looking at why’s and wherefores of finding your end game state. Although the name is Caribbean Canbacing, which happens to be a good alliteration, it does not have to be the Caribbean. Your end game state could be anywhere, including where you are now.

Canbacing in general

As you know CANBACE is Creating a New Beautiful and Courageous Existence. That existence can be anywhere and can be whatever you want it to be. In this series I will be looking at some extreme forms (us moving to the Caribbean) and some simpler ways to Canbace.

Not just the Caribbean

For a lot of us we have a home that we moved into based on the assumption that we were going to have a family. The question is, as this is not the case, do we still want to be “here”? After all our  raison d’etre for buying the house has changed? We will look at the process for deciding if you want to move at all, and if you do, what are the pitfalls and reasons for doing so. It’s not the destination that matters but the process to get there.

Applicable to anywhere

Even though we want to be Caribbean Canbacing we are still doing things to make our lives here more exciting and beautiful. You don’t have to wait until you’ve arrived to be Canbacing. Now the house is on the market  we have been de cluttering prior to our future move. We’ve found that getting less cluttered is relieving stress. Also having a good clean and redecorating is making the house more pleasant to live in. Which begs the question “why didn’t we declutter and redecorate before we decided to sell?”

Little things matter

It’s the little things, not just the big moves, that can really help when Canbacing. As you have seen above even some little things can make life more enjoyable or at least less stressful. Perhaps just finding out about things to do in your area, and doing some of them, may help to make your life more beautiful.

We live in an area where people come on holiday, however, as we live here, we do not go to or do the things that holiday makers do. Why is that? When did that change? After all it is these things that drew us to the area in the first place.

In the next Caribbean Canbacing blog

Any way that is a quick look at what this series of blogs is going to be about. In the next instalment I will talk through some of the decision-making process that led to us wanting to Canbace in the Caribbean. I know it’s another place where people go on holiday: however, there is a lot more to it than that. Understanding our thought process could help you with big decisions that you are facing as you start to Canbace.

As you start Canbacing remember to Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome
