Here’s CanbaceLife Website Update #1. Well we said we were doing changes to the website and posting updates so here we are. You can read the blog about why want to make changes here.
Although we haven’t been happy with the look of the website for a while, we haven’t made any changes. YET. The main stumbling block has been changes would have been tested “live”. This is a problem as it can get very messy and doesn’t look good.
If you’ve been following us for a little while you will know that we updated our hosting package at the end of last year. This has given us the ability to have a staging (beta) site to work on. So we can experiment with the changes we want to make without having to do it on the live site.

We are now testing a new theme for CanbaceLife website. This is one recommended by the LMS system we are planning on purchasing soon. Having had a look at the theme it works in a very different way to our current theme, so the beta site has been worth it already. It would have been more than a nightmare trying to learn the new theme on the live site.
The CanbaceLife website gets staging
As we said our new hosting package gives us the ability to have a staging site on the CanbaceLife Website However, you do have to ask for it. I was imagining several hours of being talked through the process. I shouldn’t have worried. The hosting company did all the “heavy lifting”. Unfortunately, there was a little hiccup when the first “tech support” only did half the job.

The second tech support finished the installation and took us through the login process. There were a few fun and games trying to login as an emergency password reset was required. The tech support was with us all the way until we were up and running so full marks to our second tech. Half marks obviously for the first one.
So now we are ready to start some serious playing around to Create A New Beautiful And Courageous Existence or at least a New, Beautiful Website.
There isn’t a practice makes perfect for this blog because we’re the ones doing the work. When we share future updates that will be us demonstrating that our own practice makes perfect is working. Fingers crossed!
