What is Pampering?
Well it’s the present participle of Pamper, here is the English definition of pamper
To give someone special treatment, making that person as comfortable as possible
and giving them whatever they want.
The American definition is slightly different:
To treat with too much kindness and attention.
We tend to use both definitions the English for ourselves and the American for other people.
“Being pampered is great, but sometimes I like to do those things myself because it’s a little therapeutic and gives me some downtime for myself-and I need that”. Annie Ilonzeh
Most people think of pampering as the massage, spa treatments hot relaxing bubble bath sort. However, by the definition it must be a lot bigger than that. What about holidays, meals out or even going to see a sporting event.
Is it different for Men? Well based on this definition yes, in many ways, as we don’t necessarily want the same things as women. Is going down the pub for a drink pampering? Probably, based on the definitions.

At least a little bit as we are giving ourselves attention and making ourselves comfortable with life. Life is hard enough as it is without trying to make it more difficult.
Practice makes perfect
It’s all well and good writing about things in theory: however, we need to start applying what we learn. Why don’t you look at things that you do and decide if it fits the pampering definition? If they do, which bits of pampering would you like to do more of?
