As part of Endometriosis Awareness Month 2019 I teamed up with other Endo Warriors for a webinar. Together they are going to be discussing the reality of living with endometriosis and generally bust the myth that endo is simply bad period pain.

We’re going to be talking openly and honestly about our personal experiences. Although we have different stories to tell we all have one thing in common. We want to help other women suffering from endo and we want to raise awareness amongst the general public.

Originally we thought we would hold one live event. It turned out we had far too much to talk about for only one hour so we also recorded a “Part 2” a few weeks later. The recordings of both webinars are shared below.

However, before we get to the videos I would like to thank Aubree, Brandi, Deborah and Jobi for giving up their time to take part in the webinars. I would also like to thank Brandi for sharing her endo stats with us. You can find out more about our wonderful panel members at the bottom of the page.

Endometriosis is Not simply bad period pain Part 1

In Part 1 we discussed:

  • Endo is only bad period pain
  • Pain management options
  • Myth #1 – A hysterectomy will cure endo
  • Endo and the menopause
  • Myth #2 – Endo only effects the reproductive organs
  • Myth #3 – having children will cure endo

As you can see towards the end of the webinar we discuss the myth that having children is a cure for endo. [Between 48:30 and 52:50] This includes a mother sharing her experience of endo after children. Because this may be triggering for some people I also mention this a minute or two beforehand. This will give people time to turn down the sound if they wish.

Endometriosis is Not simply bad period pain Part 2

In Part 2 we talking about:

  • Living with the Endo Belly
  • Following the Endo Diet
  • Endo and sex
  • What our family and friends should know about endo
  • The changes needed within the medical profession

Although we don’t focus on children during this webinar they are mentioned a couple of times in passing. This is when refer back to the myth that having children isn’t a cure and when talking about doctors needing to become better listeners.

DISCLAIMER

During the webinar we will be discussing our personal experiences. Any information shared about treatments etc are only suggestions. They are not a substitute for medical advice from endometriosis doctors/surgeons.
